Screen printing is a printing method using ink, a mesh material and a stencil. The stencil is cut out to control where the ink passes through the mesh when pressure is applied. This makes it possible to produce a sharp edged image onto almost any substrate.

Screen printing has many advantages for certain types of signs. Stencils only need to be set up once so re-ordering is straightforward and inks can be mixed to match specific colours, very useful for signage that needs to match a corporate identity. Special high visibilty inks can be used for health and safety or roadside signs that digitally printed CMYK process inks cannot produce
