Vehicle liveries, supplied to fleet operators, sole traders and motor dealerships, remains a core product of the portfolio. The business rapidly expanded, necessitating the employment of skilled designers and production staff. The Limited Company was formed in 1988, concurrent with the move to specialist premises at Paper Mill End, Great Barr. Considerable investment was made in computerised design and production tools as these became increasingly industry-standard through the 1980's. Action Graphics has always maintained a policy of remaining at the leading edge of the technology revolution.
The latter part of the 1980's saw steady growth and an increase in staff, equipment and product-range. Computer-driven cutting/engraving was taken on-board, a screen-printing department commissioned, equipped and staffed with specialist personnel and, at the beginning of the 1990's, the first venture into digital printing using Inkjet technology.
By 1993 in excess of thirty production staff were in full-time employment, providing an extremely wide range of graphic design and production services across the full spectrum of a wide industrial and commercial client base.
Design and development of large-scale signage projects for nationwide industrial installation began at this time with increasing regularity. The sheer volume of equipment and personnel was beginning to overcrowd the excellent but confined units at Great Barr. With availability of space now the limiting factor and a workforce approaching forty strong, during the Easter break in 1997 the company moved to it's present depot at Phoenix Park.
The story since then has been, essentially, "more of the same".
Digital printing has been at the forefront of evolution in recent times (for further information please see our Plant List) and the spacious premises at Phoenix Park have enabled Action Graphics to develop strongly in these arenas with a fully-equipped digital studio providing output for every purpose, supported by a skilled team of print-finishers to prepare the results for end-use in any environment.
