Printed Foamex and DibondPrinted Foamex and DiBond

Traditionally, any print that required mounting onto a backing panel had to be printed to adhesive-backed vinyls which then had to be applyed to the panel, or in some cases printed onto paper which then had to have an adhesive applied to the back and then applied them onto the panel(s). Even after that a protective laminate is often required, this means that there can be as many as 3 to 4 additional processes between printing and completion. Newer printing technology enables printing directly to the panels, cutting out these extra processes.

This is where our Tempo printer is used, pre-cut panels are loaded into it and during printing it sprays a UV-curable ink directly onto the panel's surface. The ink immediately begins hardening as it is exposed to ambient light (two UV lamps at either sides of the printhead helps accelerate this process) and when printing is complete the panels are ready for packaging and delivery.

It is an ideal process for continuous wall or floor graphics where images are spread across panels and as the production times are greatly reduced, perfect for when deadlines are tight.

Foamex and DiBond are a popular choice of materials for this process, Foamex is light and therefore easily transportable whereas DiBond is heavier, but more rigid and a better quality solution for long-term use, both materials can be used indoor or outdoors.
